Great until its not... LGs warranty is lacking

I have loved the capacity of the refrigerator and the ability to have craft ice but the compressor went out and it took a week to get an LG tech out to look at the unit then another week to get the parts delivered and installed. Frig sort of worked for about 3 days -freezer was fine but frig never got below 48 degrees. Tech came back adjusted something and less than 24 hours later totally not working again. I have now been buying 30 to 40 pounds of ice per day to keep food cold for the past 40 days LGs Alternate Resolution Team has texted that they will contact me but they never do. Yesterday I got a text that said Upon checking reviewing sic your ticket for alternate resolution it says that your RA request does not qualify as it requires a delay of more than 16 days for eligibility. Additionally the status repair must remain open cancelled... SHAME ON YOU LG for not standing behind your products

Worst ice maker

Purchased this fridge back in 2021 just for the craft ice maker. Now its 4 years old and we are installing our 5th ice maker. LGs response to this issue when we tried it I call it a lemon was to replace the ice maker again. Well its junk and needs to be redesigned maybe by a GE engineer this time. If not for an extended warranty we would have spent $2000 in just the craft ice maker. If you do decide to get this refrigerator make dang sure you purchase any warranty available you will definitely need it.

This fridge has stop making ice on both ice makers. The door ice maker and craft ice is no longer working. They have been out to fix it 3 times and its been over a month with this issue. They have replace everything posible and now they will try to replace the control boards and see if the fridge can be fixed. Ive never had an issue with a refrigerator and the first LG I decide to get goes bad under 5 years.

Model Number LRMVS3006S.ASTCNAO Software Version Device App 5014.01 Modem clip_hna_v1.9.218_RT Firmware 1 SAA42360101.00009E68.0 Firmware 2 SAA43711401.00006174.1 Purchase 11/4/22 deliver 1/27/23 Great features large storage and I like the middle drawer. However it has severe flaws in cooling and ThinQ implementation. We have had to replace the icemaker and the freezers operation is erratic resulting in high temperatures. We have replaced the control board but the freezer operation is still unacceptable. Here are the itemized problems. The first one is a showstopper. 1. - Freezer door reported open by smart diagnosis - no audible alarm or push message from app. I have placed 3 remote thermometers in the fridge. They send me text messages and push messages when they detect abnormal temperatures. The door is shut tight but the temperature goes up. The latest was on 7/13/25. The temp hit 28.8 and things were melting. ThinQ Diagnostics indicates the door is open but it is closed and has been verified as such by a repair specialist who replaced the control board in an attempt to remedy the issue. Opening and closing the freezer appears to reset something and the cooling system restarts. I have had to go home to open and close the freezer to restart the cooling process. 2. - A short Power outage causes a reset of the fresh air function water filter and smart ice schedule. If the power goes out the fridge resets itself and the app loses info for the fresh air setting the water filter and the smart ice. In our case power failures only last about 10 seconds since we have a Generac generator that kicks in after 10 seconds. Using a power cycle to reset the fridge is not a good idea as everyone will have power outages. 3. - Messages from diagnosis should be sent as push notifications rather than requiring users to discover them. The fridge should monitor and report them without requiring the user to run diagnostics. Messages such as excessive ice maximum cooling mode high humidity defrost mode and door open detected should be push messages. 4. - No air coming from the door cooling + vent. This was false advertising. Based on the advertising videos of the door cooling + showing a wave of cool air being sent to the door and the advertised multiple sensors we thought that the temperatures would be pretty even everywhere allowing us to place items like milk and eggs in the door. Our repair specialist stated that only a trickle of air is produced and there is only one fan for the entire fridge so the door does not get special treatment. The temp at our door is always above 40. 5. - The craft ice does not make 6 cubes a day. The setting is on 6. We emptied the tray and were gone for five days and came back to 15 cubes. It should have made about 30 cubes. There were only about 15 cubes. Generally the fridge does not produce a lot of ice. I have to set ice plus on all the time. 6. - Other items such as fresh air schedules seem to be set at random erratic and the fridge is very slow to recover to proper temperatures after door use.

LG fridge with great features quality and price

This is our 2nd LG refrigerator. We had bought the first one ten years ago and it was excellent. The only reason we replaced it was because we didnt have a battery backup surge protector to keep it from going off and on until last year. It was still working when they took it away but we had replace one part and figured it had gotten heavy use with our family of four constantly getting in and out of. I believe strongly in outer door to access drinks and other items. It is far more energy efficient than opening the whole door making the refrigerator work harder to replace the cold. The first model I bought was another brand with just a small door. After it I was not going to buy anything without the outer door. This model has a larger capacity and more shelving space than our last LG. It is obvious a lot of thought went into the configuration of this model. The LG has better cooling that other brands that we have owned. We saved almost two thousand dollars during a recent sale. Any LG appliance we have bought has given us excellent service. I highly recommend the LRMVS3006S.

I am a huge LG fan and all of our appliances are LG but we bought this fridge in 2023 and the family and I absolutely loved it. Less than one 1 year in the craft ice maker stopped working received a free replacement / under warranty. The next year again same exact issue no longer covered - replacement was a hefty price tag. Now the issue is the indoor ice maker has gone out due to a fan motor related issue which prevents the ability to even get water when it throws the error code IFE. Long story short a price tag that steep should most definitely not have this many issues and I wont bore you with the complete incompetence of customer service experience.

New refrigerator was delivered on 4/1 after a little over 24 hours freezer was still not freezing. Less than 48 hours after delivery the unit has completely stopped cooling and is showing the code CL E. I expect more from a company than this. Retailer is replacing.

I will start off by saying it is spacious and the knock-on glass is nice. However that is where it ends This is the most boring and cheap looking $3000 fridge I have ever seen. There are little to no adjustments to shelves or door bins. The door alarm is my biggest complaint. It has to be the most annoying door alarm on the market. One minute after opening and then every 30 seconds. Unloading groceries is miserable listening to this. Please allow me to set the interval at least give me volume control or the ability to turn it off. Nice marketing on the Mycolor Instaview option. Match your decorating Yes but we will only allow you to use it for 8 hours a day and you must use a scheduler function in the app. A refrigerator without a crisper drawer for fruits and vegetables? There are drawers you just cannot set the humidity depending on what is in them. To round out the list of less infuriating items the left door pockets are so small they are useless the craft ice is nice but the balls are too small and the ice/water dispenser adjustment is silly having to continually tap it until you get to where you want. I made the mistake on my last LG fridge to not complain about the door alarm and LG was like hold my beer lets see if we can make it worse If you are the slightest bit picky DO NOT BUY This one is going back to the store.

I replaced a 27 year old Kenmore side by side yes it was still working but was starting to freeze my refrigerated stuff. I wanted something which was 29 cu ft or more and I wanted reliability as well. In my research LG refrigerators were consistently listed as the most reliable. The only negative which stood out was about the craft ice maker but it seemed to me that involved other older models. Took a bit of getting used to the layout. I cant even reach all the way to the back so I bought some clear plastic bins and put all my jars etc in those and it looks great and totally organized The door-in-door is fantastic especially since there are young kids who access condiments frequently. They are also fascinated with the InstaView I love the full-convert drawer and all the flexibility it has Now my chilled wine bottles arent taking up space in the main part And of course the ThinQ app is fun to use

I bought this refrigerator less than a year ago. The ice maker never worked. After 8 months the refrigerator stopped getting cold. An LG serice company came out over 10 times set appointments up on 3 different occasions didnt show up. An official LG repairman came out 1 time and then said it was unrepairable. I contacted LG they told me they would get back to me in 48 hrs or less I still have not heard from them.

Refrigerator and freezer are top notch. A lot of thought went into this LG design. Clean and simple lines easy to use and it looks great. The only problems are with the icemakers. The main icemaker is in the left door and ice gets jammed in the mechanism. It is easy to clear the jam but you can run out of ice before you know the drop tube is clogged up. The other problem is with the craft icemaker. I wish they would have left it out. Its a nice idea and would be a really great addition but it just has never worked right. Waiting on the replacement for it now. I dont think any manufacturer has gotten a craft icemaker to work right. Maybe getting more and more complications on refrigerator freezers is not a good idea. I think this one is an upgrade too far.

I wasnt happy that my refrigerators fan stopped working after only 3 yrs. But happy with the service I received from LG. They were able to troubleshoot my issue send out a tech. to fix in a few days. The service fan were covered even though my warranty was no longer in effect. Thank you LG

Purchased the LG Refrigerator to replace an LG refrigerator actually a Kenmore. The first delivery was defective bad door seal so we had to wait for a second one to arrive. The installation crew did a perfect and fast job. Once it was installed it has been perfect. We love it.

Severly Disappointed With LG

We purchased this refrigerator in September 2023 and had it delivered in our new home in November 2023. We have experienced several issues with improper cooling of the refrigerator and the refrigerator producing ice sporadically. While the refrigerator was under warranty LG called to inform us about an improper cooling issue and LG would be sending a technician to check the seal and refrigerator. However a day prior to the technician arriving I received a call to do troubleshooting over the phone. When I asked LG to send the technician the representative said sure but if they dont find anything wrong I would have to pay a service charge. TOTALLY RIDICULOUS Why have the app and self-diagnostics if LG is not going to honor the process. Each time I change the air filter the connections on the cover break when I twist in a clockwise direction to remove the cover. Just today 30 Nov 24 I received a message stating the temperature in the freezer compartment is too warm. The refrigerator hasnt produced ice in the last 36 hours. Just a little over a year of having this refrigerator and we have been experiencing this issue. We thought LG stood behind their products so we bought this refrigerator a 77-inch TV and washer dryer but never again. I will not spend money on products that arent supported by the company.

I bought this fridge after my 5 yr old Samsung one decided to stop working. This fridge has great space and room for everything. I love having the ice maker on the inside of the door. It is very quiet and works great. I have enjoyed having the half door to grab quick things like milk. I can not say enough good things about this fridge

My fridge never really worked right. Condensation on the bottom of the freezer. Compressor replaced twice. Software issues. Replacement compressor is loud. Also had to have the freezer evaporator panel replaced. LG claims their propietary Linear Compressor is incomparable and they use it in all their fridges. By the way its also used in Kenmore fridges. Im guessing they also use it in their washer and dryers. Bottom line is its faulty and loud and unless you want to pay a lot of money for a fridge that looks really pretty but will only give you problems and headaches down the line please look elsewhere. The replacement compressor is so loud I can hear the buzzing in my head. Its crazy making. They have already had one class action lawsuit over this compressor and now there is a second one in the works. Also buy appliance insurance if you are convinced you have to have this fridge. LGs customer service is nice in the beginning but if you have to keep complaining they eventually leave you in the black hole of customer service- their Presidential Liaison service where you cant reach anyone except by email and no one calls you back. They are hoping you will just give up. I will never buy an LG anything ever again Lesson learned.

Bought this refrigerator at BestBuy it was working great for 1 month and then the freezer started to have problems. Lost all food on freezer from one day to the next it stopped cooling. Been back and forth with LG for warranty service for almost a month and finally they are going to send a technician next week. I hope they find and fix the problem promptly. I expected for a brand new refrigerator not to have any issues for many years and if the case to receive service in a timely manner.

This is an excellent refrigerator. The inside layout is great and gives you enough room for everything you need. The Insta-view door makes it easy to just tap on the glass and see what is in that area. Also having the ability to just open the front part of the door helps keep the cold inside the refrigerator. Both the vegetable drawer and the fruit drawer seem to keep items fresher longer. We use the 2nd large drawer for items like lunchmeat cheese and various other items that need refrigeration. The Freezer drawers are very spacious and hold a lot of items and make things easy to get to. The cubed ice dispenser and water dispenser in the left hand door have worked flawlessly. Our only problem has been with the Craft Ice maker. We have had to replace it twice as it malfunctioned but it was handled under warranty. I also like the Thin-Q app as we can see the status of all of our LG appliances and are able to do troubleshooting of any issues. Overall we have been very happy with the LG products.

I happen to be on my 4th round of repairs with a refrigerator that wont cool right wont freeze right and now LG wants to completely rebuilt it. I have lost all my frozen foods and all my refrigerator items as well. If I could give this a zero star review.. I would. I would expect more out of a company selling a high end expensive fridge like this.

I ordered this refrigerator directly from LG. 40 days later I still dont have it. Worse. They charged my card 40 days ago rather than after it shipped which is a joke. Their communication is awful. Ive been in the dark and only find things out after calling and hours on hold. Customer service is non existence. All they do is apologize which doesnt keep food cold. They finally admitted it was on back order which you think they wouldve told me from the get go. This has been the worst consumer experience of my life and Im old. So how is the refrigerator? How the heck would I know?

Craft ice maker broken within the first year

I bought this refrigerator from costco about an year ago. It seemed to work okay for the first few months nothing extraordinary but did what we expected from it. Right around the one year mark the craft ice maker stopped producing ice suddenly. Tried all the troubleshooting suggestions but nothing helped. Reached out to LG repairs and they are sending a replacement ice maker for self repair. It was disappointing to see that the ice maker broken within an year of buying.
